“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run in to it and are safe.”  (Pro.18:10)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are all fine, and praising God for the most powerful answers to prayer! Every day we are receiving phone calls from people who have called the Hope Connection Helpline and have had their prayers answered! God showed up mightily from the beginning of  this year!  This is the year to receive YOUR miracle! What have you been seeking God for? NOW is the time to get hold of His promises, seek a prayer partner, call the Hope Connection, 718-238-4600, and have someone agree with you in prayer - and then expect a miracle! Glory!

If you have access to the Internet, send your prayer request to HopeNet@aol.com and our worldwide intercessors will pray for you! By the way, if you would like to join our network of online  intercessors, send an E-mail to HopeNet@aol.com and type “New Intercessor” in the subject line. We will welcome you!

Tell me, how are things going with you right now? I would love to hear from you! Every day that we live here on earth seems to hold some sort of challenge. Sometimes they are little ones, and they pass by quickly, but other times they seem to go on for a time. Thank God, each day that we have gives us a fresh start, a chance to press in and trust God for answers. Sometimes we get weary, I know I do. We begin to wonder if we will ever see that situation go away! We cry out to God, and pray for deliverance! But sometimes God steps back, and wants us to learn certain things so that we will grow. Oh, does that hurt! I found out personally, that the quicker I learn, the quicker the situation goes away! We have to keep alert and question when we see things happening. God is not upset with questions, he welcomes them! He wants us to learn, He is on our side, and He wants us to gain victory! This is what pleases Him! If we have any sin in our life, it’s better to face up to it, ask for forgiveness, and ask for strength to let that sin go, never to return to tempt us. God will give us the grace to make that happen! And if there is something that we should be doing He will let us know that too! Ask for wisdom and discernment, and then expect it!

This month we recall the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the Cross of Calvary. When He stepped aside to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, He knew the suffering that was before Him. Yet He prayed for His Disciples, and for us who would receive eternal life because of His Sacrifice. He prepared Himself to finish the course, to do what He was born on this earth to do. What courage that took! What determination! Don’t forget, He is totally God, He had a high place in heaven, but when He came to earth, He was totally human too! He felt pain, He felt everything that we suffer! When He was in heaven with His Father, and He agreed to come to earth to save mankind from their sin, He set the wheels in motion so that we could have eternal life. Glory to God!

Jesus also made the way for us to gain victory in every circumstance in our life. He loves us so much that He provided everything that we need to get there! When things seem to get too hard, He is also that Strong Tower that we can run into! He is our Rock, our Fortress, our Deliverer! With Him, all things are possible!

When the going gets tough, we know we have Someone we can run to for help. He never sleeps, He is always there. Hebrews 10:23 tells us “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”  We are to hold on to HOPE! We are to develop a sense of high destiny! The Scriptures go on to say “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another...” (Heb. 10:24,25).

Therefore, let us hold on to all that Jesus has done for us; the Atonement of our sins, the stripes that He bore for our healing and the high destiny He has set before us in our calling!

The author of Hebrews encourages the saints to assemble together to exhort one another. There is a reason for this! God uses the saints to be His mouthpiece to bring hope and healing and encouragement to one another. We cannot get lost in our challenges and give up! NO WAY! God wants us to get out there, be a blessing to others, encourage others, and then guess what? We become encouraged too!!

Our Hope Connection prayer partners are so faithful to take their shifts on the phones. Many times they are going through a personal crisis at the time. Several went on the phones right after burying a child. Now this is tough!!! But what they have learned is that in their grief, or in their trial, as they prayed for the needs of others, their own prayers were answered, or they received healing and peace for themselves.

This is the way it works. When going through a trial, run to the Strong Tower! Hide in Him, and tell Him everything that is on your heart. Then listen. He will give peace, He will give wisdom, direction, healing, but only as we listen to Him and obey His voice. Then go out and be a blessing to others! Be an encourager! Pray for others, and God will meet your own needs. He stands and waits with open arms. Run!

In His Service,

Pastor Barbara
