Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and,lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matt. 28:20)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you, and your loved ones. We are doing fine here, and so very happy that winter is over here in the North East. This year we got hit really hard with ice and snow. It was a challenge to get out to do simple things like get the mail from the Post Office. We welcome Spring!

This month we will be commemorating the life, death, and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. There is so much going on in the world right now, and in many places, Christians are being martyred. I have often wondered, would I have the courage to be willing to die for what I believe? I am certainly not afraid to die, it is how it would happen that concerns me, and let us be honest, I think everyone feels that way too. I really and truly pray that if that ever came to pass, that God would give me strength and peace, with the joyous hope of seeing Him soon! This also had to be on Jesus’ mind when He realized what He would have to go through. The Bible tells us that He was obedient unto death. “And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” (Phil. 2:8) However, He was fully human, as we are, and He felt pain, and also had to feel frightened even though knowing that soon He would be with His Father in heaven. The Bible takes us through the agony of what He went through, and on Good Friday most of us go to church to walk through the steps He made, remembering it all. Our church has an awesome presentation where we walk through each step, stop and listen to what Jesus went through at that point, and then we go on to the next step. Our hearts break as we hear what was happening step by step. Still, we cannot imagine how He physically went through it all. He was fully God and was fully human, He felt a pinch the same way we do, and it hurt. It had to be that He was looking at the future of all mankind, and knowing that if He decided to change His mind, that we would all perish into everlasting fire and torment. A Perfect Sacrifice had to be made, and that was Him. He never sinned, He kept His eyes on His Father and the future of all mankind. We have just so much to be thankful for!!

His glorious Resurrection brought Redemption for you and me and every person who would receive Him into their heart. He did this while we were all sinners, and there was

nothing that we could have done of ourselves to deserve this. Except the simple act of confessing that we are sinners, asking His forgiveness and receiving Him into our heart

It was and is that simple. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth into righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9,10) What a Friend we have in Jesus! I love that song! The last two lines say this:

From Him who loves me now so well

What power my soul can sever?

Shall life or death, or earth or hell?

No! I am His for ever.”

None of us know the day or hour that the Lord will take us home. We can speculate, we can dread, we can dream… but we do not know. This leads us to a very important question. Are you ready? Ready for what, you may ask. Ready for anything is my answer. Is your trust, your dependence, your hope, able to keep you strong for life’s challenges? If this were your last day on earth, are you ready to meet Jesus? If you are not sure, pray this prayer with me right now.

Lord Jesus I need You

I confess to you that I am a sinner

And I ask you to forgive all my sins

Come into my life as my Lord and Savior

I give myself to You from this day forward.

Help me to be strong and live my life for you.

Thank You Lord, that You have heard my prayer. Amen!

As of right now, you have given your heart to Jesus, and He now lives in you. He will help you to live your life for Him, and He will keep you strong. You are now “Born Again” and when God sees you, He sees His Son. Ask Jesus to Baptize you with His Holy Spirit, and He will as He promised. Holy Spirit will be there to encourage you, and fill you with all that you need to live your life for Jesus. You will never be alone from this day forward, as you have the Lord of Lord and King of Kings on your side watching over you and keeping you close! Glory!!!

Each day take time to talk to Jesus, He is always there to listen. Tell Him the things that are on your mind and heart. Pray for your loved ones to know Him too. You do not have to kneel by a bed to pray, you can pray while on your way to work on a train, or in your car while at a red light. You can pray while washing dishes, doing laundry, or on a break at work. You can pray before going to sleep, and as you wake up in the morning. Give the day to Jesus! Tell Him you love Him. Ask Him to be with you as you do your work, whether at your job or in your home. Develop a relationship with Him. Know that He is Your Best Friend! Start reading your Bible, begin with the New Testament. If you do not attend church, find one in your neighborhood and go on Sunday. Fellowship with other Christians and develop relationships. A whole new life is waiting for you, and I can tell you that you will never be the same! Life will be more joyful, you will be more at peace, and God will have wonderful surprises for you! God bless you, and Happy Resurrection Sunday!

In His Service,

Pastor Barbara
