“Behold I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book. “ (Rev. 22:7)

Dear Friend,

Greetings! Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are praising God for all that He has done, and is doing. Calls coming into our Hope Connection Prayer Line are increasing so quickly every single day. So much is going on in the world, and all of us are searching Scriptures to read God’s Word for now.

Our country, and our world, is not the same as it was. I know every generation says that. My mother said it, I said it, and now my children say that to their children! However, I have been studying the Book of Revelation, and I find myself saying, “Yes! This is happening now!” I know that if we read through the Bible, we can see that so much of what we read has been happening from the beginning of time. The human race is still under the influence of evil, as satan has his army out there to destroy us. Until Jesus comes again we are always battling between good and evil. When we accept Jesus into our lives, He sends Holy Spirit to live in us and help us through the many challenges that He knows we will have to face here on earth. Jesus has also given us weapons of warfare, strategies, on beating the devil down when he tries to influence us. With every situation in life, we have God’s Word to stand on to defeat the enemy!

Hebrews 4:12 gives us the strategy for what we need to beat the enemy up! “For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Therefore, the Word of God is our weapon of warfare! As with any soldier, who has to be on top of how to use his or her weapon, we have to be on top of God’s Word so that when temptations or trials come, we will know how to use our Weapon, the Word of God! How can we possibly do that if our Bible is collecting dust on the table? We must get into the Word; we must study the Word, and eat it and digest it. Just think, if any of us are put in prison for being a Christian, and of course, would not be given a Bible, would we have the Word of God inside of us to uphold us and encourage us? How long could we last if day after day we are denied the right to study the Scriptures, and
recall God’s encouraging Words to us? How long would it take for discouragement to step in and make us lose hope?

Having God’s Word inside of us brings on the rest that He promises to all those who have eaten and digested His Word. There is a closeness, a oneness, that no one can take away. Jesus came into this world so that He could identify with the human race. He came into the world as a newborn baby and then lived facing all the temptations, the hurts, the disappointments that we all face from time to time. He was also tempted, just as we are, to sin and to turn away from His Father in Heaven. But he never sinned, He never gave in! People who live with chronic illness, do not give up!! Jesus really understands and sympathizes with our weaknesses! He is able to help us! He says to come to Him with all of our weaknesses, hurts, and pain. Read the Word of God, pray, memorize Scripture, be thankful for the good things in life and begin to worship, praise, and sing to Him.

The writer of Hebrews tells us:

“Seeing that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14-16)

Jesus offers mercy and grace to us. He understands what it is to be a human being because He was one. He knows that we are weak and need Him, and He is right there next to you and to me, with outstretched arms ready to hold us tight and release healing in our spirit, soul and body. There is no love like the love of Jesus, and He proved it by coming to earth, suffering, and dying for us. He is Risen, He sits at the Right Hand of the Father, and He hears all of our prayers. Our prayers go up to Him as a sweet fragrance, and He talks to our Father about them. “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25)

Intercession is so important, that Jesus Himself lives to intercede for us! Your prayers are that important! He waits to hear from you. He loves it when you take time to be with Him and read His Word, and study, and talk to Him. He loves it that you reveal your heart to Him, and talk to Him even in the night hour. One way that Jesus speaks to us is through His Word. When you read His Word, you will hear from heaven. Stay in the Word, and keep it close to your heart.

Father, in Jesus’ Name, I lift up this reader to you and place him or her into Your loving arms. I ask that You reveal Yourself in a mighty way through Your Word. Encourage this person to be hungry and thirsty for Your Word, and that You will satisfy this longing heart to know You more! Fill this person with the desire to eat of and digest what You have to say, and bring peace, healing, and rest. Amen!

God bless you!
