CHN is a network of volunteers from churches throughout the United States of America and throughout the nations. Our mission and passion is to carry on the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ.

“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:18-20)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones, and that you are enjoying your summer. We have been so busy this summer, as people who call our prayerline are home on vacation, and that gives more time for them to catch up with their life. It is also a time when perhaps vacation did not live up to expectations and before one could even think about it, it is over, and it is time to go back to work or school. So prayer is needed.

There is so much talk about the elections coming up, and I hope Christians will get out to vote and let their voices be heard. So much is going on in the world that demands attention, and if we are not careful, we will be sorry that we missed the chance to speak out and bring a voice of reason.

However, in the meantime, if we are not careful, we can get so despondent over all the horrible news we are hearing. We wonder, “what could I do? How can I make a difference in this world? This can go two ways... we can become despondent, and give up, or we can fight for Biblical values and let our voices be heard! We can sign petitions, we can write to those in authority, we can become informed so that when we do these things, people will listen. We can get out and vote when the time comes.

We can teach our children wrong from right, and see to it that they are brought up in the way of the Lord! We need a new generation to rise up to know, love, and serve the Lord. One that will be put down in history as change makers! One that will be able to soak in the presence of the Lord, live their lives according to His way, and be unafraid to be bold in these things. The only way this can happen is if our generation comes
forward to teach the next one! One way of doing that is to let our children hear from our mouths Ephesians 5:18-20. They need a mindset that will bring them the joy of the Lord! They need a deep, personal relationship with Him. They need a mindset and a passion to be determined to follow Him at any cost. If we as parents and grandparents do not give this to our children, then who will? God is calling for change! God is calling for His people to rise up and be counted! He wants to give us so much, and we have been so lazy, that we are unable or unwilling to rise up. I will not say all of us. There is a remnant. There is a generation from every level that has heard His call, and with His anointing and His encouragement, if we take time to hear Him, we can reach this next generation. It is never too late!

However, this is summer, and it is a time to relax and ease up from the constant barrage of voices demanding us to concentrate on the mess the world is in. While we have to be aware of all that is going on, and do our best to raise our children to know the difference between good and evil, God does not require us to focus all of our attention on the news, or the Internet, or wherever voices are crying out for attention. He tells us to be filled with the Spirit, to speak to ourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. He wants us to take time to focus on Him, and heaven, and what is good and right. He wants us to take time to enjoy the life He has given us! Jesus found time to be alone and rest, and speak to His Father in heaven. If He needed to do that, how much more do we need it? When at the beach, while resting under beach umbrellas, or wherever our favorite place is, let us take time to talk to our Heavenly Father, and appreciate His unending love and care for us. Let us take time to talk to Him, and ask for His help if needed. Let us ask Him to give us wisdom in raising our children, so that they can know, love, and serve Him! Let us be an example to our children, so that they will grow up to do the same in their lives. Think of how much you are loved by Him! Think of how He has given you every spiritual blessing so that you can fight the fight of faith. Read Ephesians Chapter 6! It speaks of relationship between parents and children, and then goes on to how to be strong in the Lord, and how to put on the full armor of God so that you can have victory in all things.

Let us make this summer count! Let us stand firm in our beliefs, and let us also take time to rest. Sometimes Veterans even get tired and decide to leave the warfare to the young recruits. Fighting for our beliefs, for truth and justice can wear us down, but let us remember that God is with us, that He is cheering us on, and He will give us the strength and wisdom to complete our race here on earth. Then He will welcome us with open arms.

Let us pray.... Father, in Jesus Mighty Name, I come before You and worship and adore You. I ask you to touch this reader in the way that he or she needs. Fill this person with Your Holy Spirit, and give wisdom and strength and peace. Help this person to win the race in his or her life; to do what he or she has been called to do; and to learn also to rest after all is done, and leave everything to you. Meet this persons needs Lord, and give joy to the heart! Thank You Father. Amen!
