“And the angel answered and said to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1:35)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are all fine, and giving God glory for all He is doing! This past year has been a wonderful one for us. People from all over the country are calling our Hope Connection Helpline, our senior Care Call ministry has grown, our three support groups are touching lives powerfully, seniors received a free Thanksgiving Day dinner, and this month we will minister in a nursing home. CHN of Kenya is growing beautifully, the children we support are getting top grades and receiving prizes for their achievements. Bless them! Pastor Owuor may be receiving a grant from a large organization to open up a Christian Hope Network Orphanage. Please keep this in prayer! Our work with Eagles Wings Ministry for the Day to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem has brought tremendous results;  God is pleased! Agape Prayer Ministries has sent out thousands of prayer requests on the Internet, and our worldwide intercessors are praying! There have been wonderful answers to prayer! Glory to God! Thank you for your continued support which makes all this possible!

This month we are celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is such a special time! What faith it took for Mary to receive what the angel told her on that day! Mary was handpicked for the highest honor ever given to anyone!  She was a simple, young girl, who possessed enormous humility, purity, devotion, and confidence in God. She could have said “no” but chose obedience instead. She did not know what was ahead of her; how her life would change, yet she basically said, “yes, whatever He says, I will do it.” Praise God! Mary is our role model giving us instruction as to what we need to say if we want to fulfill God’s destiny in our lives!

What is His destiny for us? Most of us think to ourselves, “I am just me, nothing special, and I really need to get it all together before I can be of any use to God.” But the truth is this!  God has made us special, we were planned from before time began, and my friend, as much as we would love it, we will never get it all together in this life! Mary was an ordinary girl, she did not have it all together! She had fears just like we do!  She wondered if Joseph would “put her away” when he found out she was pregnant. She wondered what people would say. But one thing she did have, and that was faith and

courage! God has big plans for all of us, if we will only trust. He loves you and me, more than we could ever imagine, and He has a special plan for each one of us. The answer to finding that plan is to take each day, step by step in faith, doing what we do in love and obedience. It is simply to live out our lives staying in tune with God, and with His Word. It is so simple! Mother Teresa said “We can do no great things; only small things with great love.” Love is the key to all that we do in this life. Jesus said “This is My commandment that you love one another as I have loved you.” (John 15:12). As we love others with the love of Christ, faith and courage arise within us, and gives us what we need to step out into the extraordinary and embrace the call of God on our lives.

Christmas seems to be the season where love abounds more freely. Have you noticed that people  tend to be more generous at this time of year, both with finances and in deeds? There is a spirit of good will where people will go out of their way to help others. It is a glorious thing to behold to watch those who are normally very quiet, rise up and reach out to bless others with holy boldness! There is, I believe, a special anointing at this time of year, where God gives us extra-ordinary faith and courage to step out and be bold in our giving. My question is, why does it have to end after New Years Day? Why is it that we go back to business as usual then? God does not take the anointing away, it is there for us to keep if we want it! We can continue to do extra-ordinary things throughout the year if we keep in tune with that still, small voice, that says “This is the way, walk in it, give of yourself to that hurting man, woman or child!” We can continue to pour out the love of Jesus to a lost and dying world if we are willing to be constantly filled up with God’s Holy Spirit! ! We can continue to walk in obedience, ready to say “yes Lord!” and walk in faith and courage if we truly want to fulfill our destiny and carry out God’s plan for our lives, the way Mary did!

The answer is to be taught of His Word, prayed up, filled with His Holy Spirit, and walk in obedience. I have a challenge for you. Have you been waking up in the middle of the night, wide awake and wondering why? What do you do when that happens? If you agree with me, that time is escalating, that world events prophesied in the Bible are rapidly taking place, can you agree with me that God is calling you to intercede for the nations, for His people, for salvations, for His will to be done here on earth? This now, is an act of love, a step of faith.. I am asking you to do something instead of tossing and turning. I am asking you to begin praying! Pray for your loved ones, for your neighbors, your friends, your pastor, and  your church. Pray for the people in your city, your state, your country. Pray for the President, your leaders, all those in authority. Pray for the salvation of every man, woman and child! Pray in the Spirit, if you have received the Gift of Tongues. God is waking His people up during the night to pray. This is not happening by accident, or because we ate too much before going to sleep! This is a mandate for His people; He is trying to get our attention, and the best time that He can do that is during the Night Watch, the night times, when our thoughts are not racing!. Let us begin the new year by stepping our in faith, and allowing God to use us for His purposes. Let us do whatever we do in love and obedience, for His honor and glory.

God bless you! Wishing you and your loved ones a Blessed Christmas, and Healthy and Happy New Year, filled with all of God’s choicest blessings.

In His Service,

Pastor Barbara
