“...Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt.” (Jeremiah 31:3,4)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are all fine, and looking forward to what God is going to do in this new year. By the time you receive this letter, our worldwide prayer meeting by phone will have taken place, and I will give a detailed account for you by next month. All this new technology is such a blessing when used for the glory of God! When I think about how God can bring people from all over the world to gather together in one accord, all together, at the same time, it boggles my mind. His Power is Awesome! We are just tapping into a tiny speck of the knowledge and understanding of the Creator of our Universe! Glory!

This month we will be bombarded with advertisements regarding purchasing gifts for the people we love for Valentine’s Day. This holiday brings us to mind to show appreciation and love to the people in our life. But shouldn’t this be the case all year round? Husbands, love your wives, and show your love every day by your respect and understanding of them. It should not take a holiday to buy those flowers or candy! Surprise her at random, and watch the joy light up in her face! Share the work at home with housework, and cooking, and caring for the children. This will show her you love her, and actions do speak louder than words! And wives, show respect for your husband. Understand when he needs quiet time after a rough day at work, do little things to show that he is appreciated. I used to send little love notes tucked in with my husbands lunch. A simple thing can make a persons day! Show love to your parents, respect them as they grow old and feeble. Understand that inside they are still the same person. They still have that spunk in them to want to be independent and in charge of their lives. Respect that. Help when you can, invite them to dinner, take them out to lunch, visit often. Have fun together, go to church together. Parents, be a presence in your children’s life. Encourage them, visit their school, know their friends, do not be timid in enforcing rules that will show them the way they should go in life.  These are the things that matter! These are the things that will foster lasting, wonderful fruit, and isn’t this what life is all about? Our relationship with Jesus is first, then family, then our neighbors and the world. Our goal is to be a blessing wherever we are, and wherever we go. We should be letting our light shine so that Jesus is seen in us. This is love. This is the love that Jesus taught us about.

Did you know that Jesus passionately loves you? His love is boundless! He loves us even when we are hard to love! His love is unconditional, and everlasting. It is with this love that He has called us, and drawn us to Himself. He builds us up; He encourages us; He forgives us. His desire is for you! In our Scripture this month God says He has loved us with an everlasting love. He is talking to Israel here, and spiritually, we are Israel, we are His people. When He says He will build us, and we shall be rebuilt, He is telling us that He will loose the chains around us, He will open every closed door, He will give us freedom where once we were bound in sin and despair!

If we are desperate for Him, if we are willing to pay the cost, He will send forth Holy Spirit Fire to burn within us, causing us to break loose from our past, and press on to our future and to our Hope, which is in Him! What is the cost? Simply to be willing to repent of our sins, and call upon Him as our Lord and Savior. It is to be willing to let go of the sin that has bound us in the past, and be released into His everlasting arms! He is more than what we need! He calls us to Himself, and says to “Come!.” It is His passionate desire to hold us in His arms and give to us unconditional love. Jesus says “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matt.11:28-30).

How many of us give Him our burdens only to take them back again by worrying, or trying to “fix” the situation? While typing this letter to you, I took a few minutes to look outside of my office window. It is 12:30 in the afternoon, but the sky is dark with clouds.

While pondering upon the Goodness of our Lord, His love, and what it all means right here on earth, I noticed a small opening in the clouds, and suddenly they opened more to reveal bright sunshine coming through that tiny space. It is a glorious scene, magnificent in showing forth the glory of God! It seems to me that while we are going though “dark” times in our life, we lose sight of what may be behind the situation. We never know when that darkness will suddenly give way, and God will suddenly burst though in all His Glory and Magnificence! He will come as a Shining Light to His beloved, His Bride. It is at that time we are reminded that the God of the Universe will never leave us or forsake us! He loves us with an everlasting love! We see dimly the things He wants to show us, Can we only dare to imagine the wonderful things He has in store for us? This life on earth is only a sample, a taste of what is to come! While we are here, we need to remember that we are not alone. His Holy Spirit is with us, to comfort us, to guide us, to teach us, and to reveal the deep things of God in our night seasons. Those dark clouds will part, leaving a ray of sunshine to warm and comfort us. We will know what true love really is!

I pray that God will reveal Himself in a powerful way to you this month and that you will experience and receive His perfect unending love for you. I pray that His Holy Spirit Fire will come upon you, and burn within you so that you will know the love of your Bridegroom in an intimate, glorious way.

In His Service,

Pastor Barbara
