“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are fine and excited to see what God is going to do in this new year. Our ministry is growing, calls are coming in from around the world from people who need to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, and as their provider and peace in the midst of storms.

We are certainly living in trying times right now. The News is difficult to listen to, and it can be discouraging, except for the promise given to us by Jesus. He gives us a peace that surpasses all understanding if we would only keep our eyes on Him. His peace is a Gift that He gives to those who stay in His Word, and keep Him in their heart daily. This peace is a trusting that God is at work in our circumstances, no matter what we hear or what we see. It comes from the simple belief that God knows what is going on, and that He has a plan for our good. He sends His Holy Spirit to encourage us, and give us wisdom as needed. It is up to us to open ourselves to hear from Him, but how can we do that?

It is simple. If you have received Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior, and if you desire to live for Him and follow His instructions (the Bible) He will see to it that you will have all that you need to live a good life in Him. I believe in Rev. 3:20 Jesus is not only telling us that He has literally come into our human spirits at the moment of our salvation with Him, but that He can also enter into our souls through the Holy Spirit. Even though Jesus is in heaven, He now lives on the inside of us “through” the  Holy Spirit. There is a Baptism of the Holy Spirit that Jesus desires to give to all believers. When this happens in our life, we are never the same! If you are not sure that you  have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, please say this prayer with me.

“Lord Jesus I need You. Thank You for loving me, and thank You for coming into my life as my Lord and Savior.  I ask You now, to Baptize me and fill me with the Gift of Your Holy Spirit. I invite the Holy Spirit to live in me and guide me, teach me, and show me the way to live. I desire more of You, and I want to live for You. Thank You that You have heard my prayer. Amen.”

The Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit is our Friend, our Helper, and that He will teach us all things. (John 14:15-31)

When I wake up in the morning, I say Good Morning to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and I ask for wisdom, guidance, strength and health to accomplish what is needed for the day. It is so comforting to know that we are never alone, and if we call upon the Trinity to guide us and help us through the day, we will have that help. The Holy Spirit is a Gentleman, He will not come unless we ask Him to. He will not impose His will on us. He will not order us to do anything. What He will do, is this.... He will listen to us when we speak to Him, He will fill us with what we ask for, such as peace, joy, love, etc. He will guide us if we ask for guidance. He does this in a quiet gentle way. Have you ever had the experience of going somewhere, when suddenly you felt as if you should change direction? Or have you ever had the thought to call someone up, and when you did it was perfect timing for that person? The Holy Spirit does speak to us, and most of the time it is in a quiet way. We need to keep in tune with Him as He does guide us, and He does help us in many ways. He is a Gentleman, He will not force His way with us and He will not shout. But if we quiet ourselves to listen, He will speak. I pray that this month, especially because it is a month where love is spoken about in so many ways, that you will become more aware of the soft, sweet voice of Holy Spirit, and that you will follow His directions in your life.

Father, in Jesus Name I lift this reader up to You, and pray for this person to receive the Gift of Your Holy Spirit, to hear from Him, and to feel His Presence. Holy Spirit, encourage this reader in every way, and fill this heart with Your overwhelming love and peace. Thank You! Amen!

In His Service,

Pastor Barbara
