"I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved." (Psalm 16:7,8)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones, and wishing you a healthy, peaceful, prosperous New Year, filled with all of God's choicest blessings!  I believe we have much to look forward to in this year, but the way to follow God's blessings is by spending time with Him, reading His Word, and hearing from Him. As we quiet ourselves before Him, and allow Him to guide us, we can know that we are on the right path.

We all know that each year has its good and bad moments, God did not promise us that we will never have to face problems, but we can know that our hope of victory in our circumstances comes from Him. He is the one who has the answers for all of life's situations. When we do not know which way to turn, we should especially fix our eyes on Him and follow Him. Our God is so Trustworthy that we can place our cares in His hands, and not lean to our own understanding. Actually, it is when we feel that we need to "fix" everything ourselves that we run into trouble! God has already shown us how much His love for us can be trusted by sending His Son to die for us! So, why is it that we keep thinking that we have to do it all? Who are we, anyhow? Thank God, we are Blood bought children of God Almighty, and brothers and sisters of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!  Because of what Jesus did for us, we are royalty! He has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us. When He was nailed to the Cross of Calvary, the precious Blood that He shed covered our sins and healed our sickness. Fear was nailed to the Cross... panic was nailed to the Cross... anxiety was nailed to the Cross... cancer was nailed to the Cross...worry was nailed to the Cross! Every sickness, every situation in our life that causes us to be fearful  has been nailed to the Cross!

We will never, on this earth, understand all things. What even makes us think that even if God explained the challenges that we face, that we would be able to understand them?  Deut. 29:29 tells us "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law."  So, even in our trials, and through our tears, we say "Yes Jesus, I choose You. I don't choose self-pity or resentment, I say 'yes' to You."

David says "I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons." (Ps. 16:7) When we do not know what to do, and we ask Him for counsel, He will give it. This year let us purposely keep this promise hidden in our spirit. Let us know that He is with us in both the good times and bad. Let us know that He will never abandon us! Most importantly, let us learn to not take back our problems, let us bring them to the Cross, and leave them there! When we keep our relationship with Him strong, when we pray and worship Him, our thoughts become redirected to Him. He will order our steps if we quiet ourselves and listen. He wants to see us happy, He wants to see us joyful in all things, He wants to see us enjoy the good things that our Heavenly Father has given us.

Each day is a brand new day, full of promise! Let us take the time when we wake up to say "Good morning Father, thank You for this day; Good morning Jesus, thank You for the Cross, and all that You have done for me; Good morning Holy Spirit, thank You for Your guidance in this day. I give myself to Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and I thank You that You order my steps today. Help me to accomplish the things that You have set for me to do. Fill me with Your love, Your peace, Your wisdom, Your strength, and increase in me Your understanding and love. Let me be a blessing to all that I meet today, for Your honor and glory. Amen!

I believe that God is saying to you today:

" I have ordered Your steps, walk in them, and you will receive the desires of your heart. Be courageous, for I have overcome the world! You are My beloved, and I am yours, and I am asking for time alone with you. Come to My garden, come to My secret place, and be still. I will fill your heart with floods of joy, with peace, and with Holy Spirit Anointing so that you can go forth and fulfill the things I have called you to do in this New Year. I am filling you with floods of joy, with floods of peace to overflowing in your life. I am increasing your heart to love the unlovely! Do not be surprised at this, as you have a mandate to pour out rivers of Living Waters wherever you go to whoever you meet. Be expectant! You have received unmerited favor, now give it away to all you are in contact with and peace will follow you. I Am who I Am, and this year I will pour out blessings that you cannot contain. Be faithful, and you will see the desires of your heart come to pass." Amen!

Father, I thank You  that Your Word will not return to You void, but it will accomplish that what it sets out to do!  Amen! This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!

God bless you,

Rev. Barbara A. Yovino, Ph.D.
