“Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.” (Isaiah 60:1)

Dear Friend,

Happy New Year! Wishing you and your loved ones a glorious New Year, filled with God’s choicest blessings! Now we are moving into a fresh new start, a new year, with hopes and dreams and prayers. The past is gone, and all things become new! The hurts, the trauma’s, the problems we had are yesterday. Today is a new day, a new year, filled with promise!  Let us let go of all that came against us last year! Let us look forward to the new of God!

Isaiah goes on to say in Chapter 60 that darkness covered the earth, and deep darkness the people. I believe you will agree with me that the past year was a year filled with turmoil, with hard times, with anger and unsteadiness. There were times when I felt as if we were definitely at the point where Jesus could return and take us all up with Him! There was no sanity, no peace, not even among Christians, and it left us going to sleep at night wondering what will become of us and the world we live in? Would our children stand a chance to see good days where the sun is shining, where people are courteous, where we all love one other?  Where people go about their day with a smile and hope for their dreams to come to pass? Do you remember this song  by Jason Upton?

We are One in The Spirit,

We are One in The Lord.

We are One in The Spirit,

We are One in The Lord.

And we pray that all unity may one day be restored.

Chorus

And they'll know we are Christians by our love,

By our Love,

Yes they'll know we are Christians by our love.

We will walk with each other,

We will walk hand in hand.

We will walk with each other,

We will walk hand in hand.

And together we'll spread the News

that God is in our land.

I love that song, and I believe we should all sing it again in our services. We need to spread love again. Love for Christ, and love for one another. My heart is crying out for this!!

I believe if we each do our part we could begin a revolution, and a Mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit will fall upon our land, and souls will cry out for the Living God, and hearts would be changed and healed. It could happen. I am not just dreaming, I am believing. But again, it starts with us. Let us follow the example of Jesus to return love for hate. Let us pray hard for our Leaders: our President, Vice President, Congress, Supreme Court, Governors, Mayors and more. Let us spread love and peace, as Christ did. He was totally God but... totally human too when He was on earth, and He is our example. If He could do that, we can too!

Isaiah says “Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; BUT the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.” (Isaiah 60:1-3) This Word is for YOU for this year.. “You will be the light shining through the darkness as you walk through each day. You will be the light that will bring the love of God and peace of God to all you meet. You will bring change to the atmosphere in your city! You will be back in a good church if you have been absent, and your light will shine. You will walk into your office, your schoolroom, the supermarket, etc. and God’s Light will be upon you!”  Now go and bring this to pass! Spread His love wherever you go. Know that He is with you, and loves you with an everlasting love. Amen! God bless you abundantly as you go and serve the Lord!

God bless you!

In His Service,

Pastor Barbara
