CHN is a network of volunteers from churches throughout the United States of America and throughout the nations. Our mission and passion is to carry on the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ.

July 2008

I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.   (Isaiah 61:10)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you, and your loved ones. We are all fine, and excited about what God is doing in our midst. Our prayer line has been overflowing with calls from both our Hope Connection Helpline and the God TV prayer line. It is such a joy and an honor to be able to minister to so many people. We thank God for His favor, and we give Him glory for all He is doing.  Do you have Direct TV satellite? If so, you can watch spirit-filled anointed programming on God TV, channel 365. If you have the Internet, you can watch it on their live web cam at their web site: www.god.tv

So... tell me, how do you like our new logo and stationary? Please write or call and let me know. Next year CHN will celebrate twenty years of ministry, and we have never had a personal logo, so it was definitely time.  I believe this logo truly represents who we are and what we stand for. The globe represents the world; our outreach is worldwide, to reach all people. The figure with outstretched arms, represent all of us lifting up holy hands to praise the Lord. The cross, of course, represents the Cross of Calvary and all that Jesus has done for us. Praise Him!

Summer is a great time to relax a bit, and meditate on the goodness of God. I love the tranquility of the ocean, and on many evenings you can find me walking by the ocean near my home. When I see the sparkling sun shining on the water, especially the evening sun as it is going down all I can think of is the majesty of God. I stand there, and listen to the waves gently rolling against the rocks, and take in the fresh smell of the ocean. Seagulls fly majestically overhead, all in unison with one another. As the evening sets in, the sun turns to a deep orange ball casting magnificent colors across the sky. As the Scripture says, "I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God." I can picture in my mind, my Bridegroom. His love is so pure and perfect, it always satisfies. It is so quiet and peaceful, and finally, my soul is at rest. The cares of the day seem to wash away and God's peace permeates my whole being. We all need these times of refreshing, they are essential to our physical, mental and spiritual well being. Wherever you live, find a place that is quiet and peaceful and go there as often as you can this summer. A park filled with trees and grass will refresh you. Take a walk in your neighborhood and admire the flowers and shrubbery, and pray as you walk. Get in touch with your Bridegroom. He longs to hear from you. Picture yourself walking next to Him and really appreciate all that He is. Soak in His anointing and His Glory.

Take this summer to especially meditate on His Word. His Word is life and health to our body. "My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life and health to a man's whole body." (Prov. 4:20) Just think! If you want to be healthy, stay in the Word. As you read the Bible, tell the Lord that you are taking His Word as your medicine, and that you are believing for your healing. If you believe that you are healed, continue your medication, and then go to your doctor and let him confirm it. God is Faithful to His promises, and He is still healing today. "...the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of the Lord stands forever." (1 Pet. 24,25)

As you meditate on God's Word, know that He wants to give you joy. God is a God of compassion; He is a forgiving God, slow to anger and abounding in love. (Neh. 9:17) Isn't this much to be joyful about? Neh. 8:11 tells us “...Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength." Do you need joy and strength? Meditate on His Word, and soak in His blessings. Let His Word speak to your heart and encourage you. Summer is a great time to get outdoors and find a place to sit while meditating on God's Word. Take time every day to do this for yourself. You are the one who will benefit by it. No matter what trials we are going through, we can still have peace and joy within our soul. No man can take that away from us.  God has clothed us with His Righteousness; He loves you and me so much! His desire is for us! He stands there and waits for us to give our attention to Him. Once we do, there is nothing that He will withhold from us. His promises are for us, for today. His joy is for today. Receive it! He is standing there waiting to wipe away our tears and grant us peace and wisdom, and understanding of spiritual things. There is so much on His heart that He wants to tell us, but unless we take the time to listen, we will miss it. Now that the days are longer, and we can have more time outdoors, let us use this opportunity to find a secret place, a place where we can talk and listen to God. That secret place can be anywhere that is quiet; where our souls can be at rest. Sometimes the only way we can do this is to be jealous of our time with God. We have to make plans for that special time, and let others know that we will be busy, that they can reach us after our hour or so is up. The same way that we make time for our family and friends, let us make time for our visit with Jesus.

Father, in Jesus Name, I lift up this reader to You, and I ask You to please sing to this heart with Your love songs, and draw this reader into Your very Presence. Lord, give this person rest, and fill him or her with Your love and joy. Bring the reader into Your secret place where no man can enter, where it will be just the two of you. Grant the reader Your peace, Your joy, and Your anointing on His or her life. Fill this person with Your Holy Spirit, with Your anointing, and Your Gifts. Touch him or her right now, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, and we believe that we receive by faith. Amen & amen!

God bless you,

Rev. Barbara A. Yovino, Ph.D.
