Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (8:26)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are all fine, and enjoying the summer weather. So much is going on in the world these days that there is much to pray for and keep up with. The warm summer sunshine can be healing during these times. Just think of how you feel when the sun is shining, and your body is relaxed from the stress of trying to keep warm or dry. All tension leaves and you can take a deep breath and just enjoy “being.” I am looking outside my office window while writing to you, and I just love the lush green trees and the sound of the birds chirping. Close your eyes and picture yourself alone with Jesus, with the most beautiful peaceful scenery surrounding you. Doesn’t it feel so good?

Summer is a great time to catch up with ourselves and heal inside and out. True, our problems may not go away, but this is a season of hope. It is a time to rest from our labors and enjoy God’s creation. So, what happens when we find ourselves caught up in concerns, no matter how much we try to relax? How do we relax in the midst of them? Paul tells us in Romans 8:26 that the Holy Spirit helps us by praying for us. Look at what follows this. “Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Vs. 27) It is when we are totally at our wits end, when we have exhausted every ounce of strength, when we have done all, that we finally come to realize that we cannot do it! Why does it take so long for us to realize this truth? It would save us hours upon hours and days and weeks and possibly more if we would only come to the place immediately to where God wants us to be. That place is totally in His care, trusting Him as a child trusts his parent.

There is a story I think we have all heard at one time, where a child is on a diving board and terrified of jumping off into the water. He cries, he feels faint, he feels like he is going to die right there. Suddenly his dad is there in the water with outstretched arms calling out to him...”son, jump into my arms, I will catch you!” The son has complete faith in his dad, so he jumps and is fine!

This is the way that God wants us to trust Him! Jesus calls out to us saying “Come to

Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28) If only we would! There are times when we feel like we are carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders, and it is obvious through God’s Word that we are NOT meant to do this!

Jesus has given us all the information and tools we need to live victoriously! He has given us His Holy Spirit who will make intercession for us. (Rom. 8:26) When we find ourselves in situations where we need Divine help to get us through, and we do not know how to pray, it is time to call upon Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is a Person, the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity. When Jesus went up to the Father, He sent His Holy Spirit to come to live in those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Holy Spirit is as close to us as our breath, He lives in us, He is there to teach us, to guide us, to give us Gifts. He helps us with our weaknesses! He makes intercession through us according to the will of God.(vs.26) In other words, Holy Spirit prays the perfect prayers through us! He knows exactly what to pray for when we don’t.

It gets better! Verse 28 tells us “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Therefore, if we are allowing Holy Spirit to pray through us, the One who knows exactly what is needed in our situation, then God will turn that situation around for the good!

My friend, God loves you with an everlasting love. If He is for you, who can be against you? (Vs. 31) He did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him, also freely give us all things?” (Vs.32) Glory!

If you would like Holy Spirit to pray through you, please spend time with Him every day. He wants to Baptize you with power, He wants you to be victorious in all things. He wants to empower you from on High with His gifts. Please say this prayer with me:

Father, in Jesus Name, I thank You that I am Your child. Thank You for loving me so much that You gave your only Son to live, and then to die on the Cross for me, and for my sins. Thank You Jesus for all that You have done, and are doing for me. Jesus, I want it all. I want to receive all that You died for me to have. I ask You now to Baptize me and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, I welcome You! Live in me and empower me to live the Christian life, and all that God has promised to those who love Him. Please give me Your Gifts as in 1 Cor. 12 and 13. I give You permission to pray Your prayers through me. I want to know You more, please fill me and use me for God’s glory. Amen.”

Keep talking to Holy Spirit, read all that Jesus says about Him in His Word. Study and fill your heart with all that He wants to give you. Receive it all, begin today!

Father, in Jesus Name, I lift up this reader to You, and ask that You fill this person with Your Holy Spirit and power. Encourage this person today to press on to greater things in You! This reader is more than a conqueror through You who loves him or her so much. Nothing can separate this person from your love! (Rom. 8:37-39) Thank You Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, Amen!

God bless you,
