CHN is a network of volunteers from churches throughout the United States of America and throughout the nations. Our mission and passion is to carry on the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ.

June 2007

“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” (Rev. 19:7)

Greetings! Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are fine, and looking forward to a very busy summer of ministry. Now that weather permits, our street evangelism is able to go into full swing. It is wonderful to be able to take in the beauty of the sunshine, and flowers and trees as we reach out to our neighbors! On June 2nd we will be joining with churches and ministries throughout the NYC area, each prayer walking its own zip code. As we walk and pray, we will say ‘hi” to our neighbors, and take time to talk and minister God’s love and healing to them. Churches throughout the whole NY area and five Boroughs will be holding healing services on June 3rd, and many will continue with these services throughout this month. If you are interested in walking with us, or would like to know of a church in your area that is participating, please call me at (718) 745-1003.

Spring and summer always seem to hold such promise for the future. Doesn’t it seem as if life itself looks different when the sun is shining, and flowers are in bloom? I recently had a magnificent dream about a precious couple who were good friends of mine, who went home to be with the Lord. In my dream the husband invited me to see where he was living. I suddenly found myself floating high in the air, overlooking the most beautiful, huge, house. There was bright sunshine everywhere, and the house had no roof; the sun was shining down into it, and all around it. There were huge cathedral windows around the sides of the house where the most brilliant sunshine burst forth into the rooms.  His wife was sitting by the window, and smiled when she saw me. When I looked at the floors, the brilliance of the sun was shining upwards from them! He went to join his wife, and they were smiling broadly. Glory! I firmly believe that God gave me a glimpse of what our heavenly mansion will look like! The Lord will be our Sun, and there will be no need of a roof because His Light will be our warmth and our covering. There will be no need of rain, the trees and grass and flowers will always be in blossom. God’s Awesomeness and Brilliance gives life to everything around us! His love will consistently pour through those cathedral windows all around us, and up from the floors, and into our hearts granting us warmth, healing, joy and all the splendor of heaven itself. There will be perfect peace and contentment forever and ever as we spend our eternity praising and worshiping our Heavenly King!

Okay, back to earth now... Let’s think about God’s Grace (unmerited favor) for a while. His Grace is what gets us through this life, even when we don’t deserve it. The interesting thing is, His order of Grace grows stronger and stronger as we draw nearer to Him, even in our old age. Believers are assured of a home with God in the future. Rev. 21:3 tells us “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them.” Therefore, as Christians, we  do not need to panic when our body falls apart, our  appetite decreases, and finally, our movements cease and our heart stops. His never ending Grace will take us through till we meet Him face to face!

This is not the order of nature here on earth. With nature, the natural order of things is to is to progressively grow old and be forced to slow down. Our youth is filled with vigor, and we feel as if it will last forever. Then we find ourselves in the twilight years.  Evening comes, and what was once bright and sunny and full of life becomes dark and quiet. If we were simply physical beings and nothing more, this is all we would have to look forward to. But with God, the best is yet to come! He saves the best for last!

The order of Grace is the opposite! In the evening, the light is brighter than ever! As we grow older, and as we press on with the things He has called us to do, we have so much to look forward to! Yes, our body may grow frail, and our steps slower, but this only means that we become nearer to God. Grace will take us through the hard times; it will take us to greater heights rising so that when it is evening, instead of shadowy darkness, there will be light. Paul says “You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.” (1Thess. 5:5)This is our promise as Christians! We are not merely physical beings. We are spirit, soul, and body, made in the image of God! Our decision to follow Christ and His teachings changes everything! Eternal life begins the moment we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and if we should die before He comes again then it is our way to heaven. All believers will live forever in heaven with Christ. Glory!

This is what we have to look forward to. This is why we press in, never wavering, keeping our eyes fixed on the Prize. This is why we spend our life telling others about Jesus. We do not want one to be lost and miss heaven. When we think of what is waiting for us, how can we be silent? Going on, Rev. 21:3 in full, tells us “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.”

No matter how well we take care of our body, the Bible tells us that the outward man perishes, but...Jesus has gone on before us to prepare a place for occupancy. We will not be homeless at death, because God has seen to it that we will have an eternal dwelling place. Praise Him!

I read in the papers that a poll taken in the United States showed that only 35 % of people attend church. And even less than that think of spiritual things. When catastrophes come, people are reminded of God and reach out. Then as things quiet down, it is business as usual. We cannot wait until a catastrophe hits before telling others about Jesus! It may be too late then for some people. The time is now! Won’t you partner with us to help get the word out? Keep CHN in prayer, and let God lead you as to how you can participate with us in these last days.

God bless you as you pray for others!
