June 2018

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.”  (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Dear Friend,

How are you? Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. I cannot believe that almost a half year has gone by already! Is it because I am growing older that the time just flies by too quickly? When I was a child, June, the end of the school year, could not come quickly enough!

June is normally a happy month for so many people. For children, it means a 2 month break from school and homework. For older students it means Graduation time! For many young couples, it means that their long awaited wedding date has finally arrived! For the rest of us, it means warmer weather, flowers in full bloom, and a time to slow down just a bit as vacation time draws near. For me, it means the birthday of two of my precious grandsons. So it can be  a busy month, but normally with all good things.

Have you ever thought of how God felt when He created the Seasons? He must have had so much fun making snow come down, watching as it covers the tree branches, making a winter wonderland, and in the Springtime  making flowers grow with all their color and beauty. Then creating the brilliant colors of the Fall season! Beautiful!

When we look back at the seasons in our life, we can relate to that. Some seasons were so beautiful, that we love to go back and talk about those days. The things that we hold dear in our heart, are the things that keep us going when life is not at its best. We remember the joy, the peace, the excitement and it gives our heart gladness especially during the hard times. And yes, hard times come to us all, but guess what? We are still here! I am here to write this letter, and you are here to read it! Praise God!  So, nothing lasts forever! Not the good, or the bad. They all pass as time goes by, and as we continue to press on in life. Isn’t it great to have those happy moments? We take pictures, or video and we look back and what a joy that is! It gives us hope to remember those times! It gives us gladness of heart! I gives us the will to press in and keep going! True, nothing lasts forever, the good or the bad. However, the few moments of joy that we have can give us strength to go on and do all that God has given us to do! It can encourage us to press in where needed, to learn, and to grow. If we look back, there are areas where we could thank God for the lesson we learned in a trial. It made us stronger, it made us smarter, it gave us strength to go on!  When I think back to my younger years, I thank God for the lessons that I learned. They were not easy lessons, much of it hurt, but I grew from them. They brought me closer to God. I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and never looked back! I became Baptized in the Holy Spirit, which helped me to grow and to minister to others. I would not trade all that for anything! After all, God gives us Gifts so that we can give back to others. When we open ourselves to that, life comes alive with joy that goes deep inside of us. It is something that the world cannot take away. It is something that enriches our life to joy unspeakable. If we are truly Born Again, the Holy Spirit lives in us. If we are truly Born Again, we want His help in our life. We want His Peace, and His Wisdom, and Knowledge.  We want His Power in us so that we can truly live a good life, so that we can truly be a blessing to others during the seasons of their lives. If you have never asked for the Holy Spirit to fill you, to live in you, and you want Him in your life, say this prayer now.

The following prayer was given to me to pray by my mentor, Rev. Margaret Hasson, who came to my home to teach a womans’ Bible class for 20 wonderful years. Please say this prayer now.

“Lord, I want to be filled with Your Spirit. I desire it with all my heart. I want to drink of Your Spirit. Lord, touch me with Your fresh Oil and Fire. Let the Wind of God fall on me. Let the Rain and Water fall on me. Holy Spirit, walk with me, teach me, lead me and guide me. I will walk through every situation by the Power of the Holy Spirit. I will never be alone or without comfort. In the midst of total disaster I will walk with the Power of the Holy Spirit. He will be my strength. Thank You Lord, for filling me with Your Holy Spirit.  Amen.”

If you said this prayer, know that the Holy Spirit walks with you, talks to you, and encourages you. He will give you His Gifts so that you can bless others. You are never alone, and without comfort. Pray with me again.

“Holy Spirit, I ask you to be with me and in me because You want to flow out to the people through me. It is up to You - do it. You have my permission. I surrender to be used by You for the Glory of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”

Holy Spirit will help you with the seasons in your life. He is always with you, because He lives in you. You have given Him permission to guide, help, comfort, and work in you, and through you in the seasons of your life, and in the lives of others.. Praise God!

Father, in Jesus Name, I lift up this reader to You, and pray that You will encourage and equip this person to not only be strong in his or her seasons of life, but in the lives of those who are touched by him or her.. Amen!  God bless you mightily!

 God bless you!

In His Service,

Pastor Barbara
