CHN is a network of volunteers from churches throughout the United States of America and throughout the nations. Our mission and passion is to carry on the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ.

March 2017

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” (Psalm 32:8)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are all fine, and enjoying the tremendous growth in our ministry. God has been blessing us with more phone calls, more partners, and more avenues of ministry this year! Meanwhile the need for more volunteers has been a priority as our desire is to see that every person who calls our prayer line is met with someone who truly cares, who has a deep relationship with Jesus, who can lead a caller to the Lord, and pray, truly believing Him for miracles. We have a great team right now with awesome prayer partners, but the need is great, so more coverage is a necessity.

This challenge has been heavy on my heart for quite a while now. Our team gives all, there are only so many hours in the day, so they take their time faithfully but then they must take care of their families. I have been praying for more intercessors to step up and take their place giving of themselves in service to our callers. If you would be interested in serving God in this way, and if you belong to a good church, and can get a Pastoral Reference, please feel free to call me at 718-745-1003.

During the last few months I have been working many hours each day to see to it that the operations ran smoothly. There were reports, Board Meetings, and new items to work on. I also made the bold step of buying an Iphone! I had a Blackberry for years and knew it inside and out, but the phone finally died, and my family encouraged me to buy an Iphone. So, all I keep hearing now is “you are going to love it, once you get used to it, and if my mom can do it, you can too!” Okay... I am waiting for that day to happen! I am laughing as I tell you this! So, the work that I have been doing was so important, and with the lack of help in certain areas, it caused me to take more on than I normally have to do. Besides, learning how to use the Iphone in between all this was insane! There were items on my list that needed strong attention and immediate answers on how to solve the issues.

So, last night I gave it all to the Lord, and told Him that He has to help me, I cannot do all this on my own, and the situation was not being changed. Here is the good part now.... every morning while having breakfast I check my emails and one in particular. It is an encouraging Word given by Bev Robinson. This morning the Word she gave was:

The current plan is not working. It has taken a while to realize this, but now it has become evident. You are in desperate need for something to work. This is no one’s fault. Everyone is doing the best they can but the enemy has set up barriers which are hard to overcome. A challenge is before you to find the plan that works. Continue seeking Me. I have the answers you need. These results will succeed.” Praise God!!

I believe this Word is also for someone who is reading this! I am excited!! We all go through these tough times trying so hard to make something work, and yet it does not happen the way we need it to happen! There are things that we depend on happening either in our family, or at school, or work. So, why isn’t it happening? What did we do wrong? God is such a forgiving God. He watches us as we stress and push to see to it that something is done right, or that something happens that will better the situation we are in. We want to see good come from these things! So, our Loving, Patient, and Forgiving Father in Heaven watches from above, waiting for us to see the light and realize that we cannot possibly do it all! We cannot control people. If we try to, it is witchcraft! Yet we feel that people should already know to do the right things. The sad truth is that it is not always so. God does not control us, He gave us a free will. Because of that, we are free to either obey or disobey Him. We are free to either work hard and do things right, or to sit back and say “I can’t understand why the person wants things done like that. I give enough, if he or she wants more, then I can just leave.” We are free to do that, but what have we accomplished by taking that attitude? Does it Glorify God? Does He really say, “It’s okay, do what you can, don’t worry about it?” I think that God, who is so Patient with us all, will just let it be, and let us learn from the consequences. We are learning something new every day, and that does include learning responsibility. Some things are so evident. If no one cooks dinner, no one will eat! If a snowstorm leaves 5 ft of snow, yes, it will eventually melt away, but no one will be able to walk or drive until it does. If we do something half way, it leaves a problem following it. I refuse to eat a steak that is brown on the outside, but raw inside!

Therefore, what challenge does this leave us with? Are we going to give all with everything that God has for us to do? Or are we going to do it halfway? What will we learn if we do it correctly and with honor? We will honor God, we will honor our family, we will honor those we work with. We will prove ourselves so that God can take us to the next level in our walk with Him! If we need wisdom to do a job, if we need His impute to guide us through to bring what we are doing to the level of obedience that He asks of us; won’t He also give us the wisdom and knowledge and all that we need to do the job right? To raise our children to know, love, and serve Him? To be the wife, the husband, the son, the daughter, that our family will feel blessed by? I was so encouraged by Psalm 32.8 today. I am going to constantly ask Him for wisdom in every area of my life, and I am going to constantly seek Him for answers. I hope you will too.

Father, in Jesus’ Name, I lift up this reader to You and ask You to please give him or her Your encouragement, Your wisdom, Your knowledge, and Your understanding in all things. Help this person, including me, to always remember to ask You first for guidance when there is something that needs attention. Thank You Father. Amen!

In His Service,

Pastor Barbara
