“From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. For Thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.” (Ps. 61:2,3)

Dear Friend,
Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are fine here, and so happy that Spring arrived along with May flowers, and lush, green trees. I think everyone on the East Coast and Mid-Atlantic is celebrating right now! Our hard winter has taken so much out of us, that after a while we wondered if we would ever see and feel the warmth of sunshine again. Praise God for Seasons!
Just as weather seasons come and go, there are seasons in life that do the same. At one point we may be on top of everything; joyful, and loving our life along with our loved ones. The next moment, we can be overwhelmed by a sudden problem or catastrophe. Life is full of ups and downs. We wish it could all be the “ups” but Jesus says that life has both. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you mayhave peace. In the world you will have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (Jn. 16:33 NKJV) Praise God! Our entire world at this moment is in crisis. Every day we read about wars, rumors of war, Isis killing Christians who stand strong in their faith. Things that we took for granted for so long are changing, and life is not the same. If not for our faith, we could really be discouraged. We have to remind ourselves that Jesus is our Rock, He is our place of safety. We cannot allow the enemy to take away our joy! We have “Today” and let us make the most of it! One day at a time. Wouldn’t we rather live our life on the cutting edge of reality rather than dreaming of a soft, phony fantasy? Reality keeps the fires alive, it keeps us on our toes, it forces us to stand firmly on the Rock, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is inviting you and me right now, to stand! No matter what our circumstances, right now, let us standon His Word! There is a promise for everything that we go through in life. His promises are what keep us strong; they are what keep us encouraged; they are what gives us hope in the middle of the storm. There is an old Christian hymn, “I’m Standing on the Promises of God” written by Larry Dalton, that goes like this:
Standing on the promises of Christ my King
Through eternal ages let His praises ring
Glory in the Highest, I will shout and sing
Standing on the promises of God

Standing, standing
Standing on the promises of God, my Savior
Standing, standing.
Therefore, what are we doing today? Are we downcast, concentrating on our problems, or are we Standing on His Promises? Today is a good day to take stock of what our focus is on. Today is a good day to encourage ourselves in the Lord! Is the sun shining? Can you see the trees in blossom? Take a walk outside and enjoy the beauty of Nature! If you have a park nearby, go and sit under a tree and read your Bible. Read about the promises of God! Read what Jesus prayed just before He was betrayed. (John 17) His focus was on us! He prayed for us! He bore His cross for you and me, and He invites us to stand firmly on the rock of reality. We are all sinners, saved by grace. Our only hope is through Jesus Christ -His death and Resurrection. Receiving Him brings forgiveness, eternal life and grace. Because of what He did, we have victory over life and death.
Therefore, stop for a moment. Take a deep breath and thank Him for all He has done. Give Him the things that are on your heart, and leave them with Him. Do NOT take them back by worrying. Take a look at the sky, watch the clouds go by. Breathe in the fresh air, smell the flowers! I am taking this for myself too! I am by the ocean, so that is a great place to go to reflect upon my Lord and Savior. I can smell the salt air, and listen to the waves as they hit the rocks. Can you picture it? Find your special place, and even if only for a half hour, take your walk and focus on Jesus and all He has done for you. When we look back on our lives, we can certainly recall the times when He came to our rescue! Whatever it was, Jesus was there all the time. After all that, you are now sitting in your kitchen, or on your comfortable living room chair, and reading this letter.
The past is over. All things become new. Each day is a new day dawning upon the recesses of our heart. Each day gives us another day to smile, to see the good, to worship God, to enjoy the simple things in life that really matter. Perhaps what comes to mind is our family, perhaps it is our friends, our home, our church, our job, our health. Whatever it is, it is a gift from God. If there is unforgiveness in any of these areas, now is the time to repent. Now is the time to undo the things that hold us down. They are not worth it my friend! Let it go. Ask for forgiveness if need be! Do not let it rob you of your joy! If there is anything on your heart that needs to be confessed, do it NOW! Jesus will hear, and He knows your heart. He forgives all who are serious in this. Do not allow the enemy of your soul to win in any area of your life. YOUR life matters, and YOUR relationship with Jesus is number 1 with Him and you. He stands there and smiles at you. He bids you to come to Him. He is smiling upon you. He wants you to know that you are loved with an everlasting love, and that nothing can separate you from His love.
Let us pray. Father, in Jesus’ Precious Name we come before You right now, and worship You. We thank You for sending Your only Son, Jesus Christ, to come to earth to live, to suffer and to die so that we can be Born Again. We thank You that He has Risen from the dead, and that He is sitting at Your right hand ever ready to intercede on our behalf. Thank You Jesus for praying for us! Thank You for Your perfect love that brings peace and healing. (Stand up now, and raise your arms towards heaven) We take this day to stand, and worship, and adore You. Praise You Lord! Amen & Amen!! God bless you!
