“ Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.” (Psalm 27:3)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. All is well here, God is moving powerfully among our midst. While we are hearing of more family problems, we are also hearing of more victories in answers to prayer. Our nation is going through hard times, but we shall not fear! Our confidence is in Jesus Christ, our Living Savior, who will see us through all things. Praise Him!

This month is a busy one. On one hand, we are preparing to vote for our next president which is something that must be seriously prayed over. On the other hand, we are preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with family and friends. Which way to do we turn? As we see our economy suffering, and our children (my nephew, for one, who has just completed a second tour in Iraq) serving in the armed forces it can cause us to fear for the future. On the other hand, we have seen God work powerfully in circumstances such as bringing my nephew home safely, and keeping our jobs safe, and our family close to Him. David was facing severe trials when he declared his faith in God. Psalm 22 was not written after the fact, it was written as a testimony of where his faith lied in the midst of his trials. Where is our faith today?

David chose to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life. He beheld His beauty, and kept his focus on Him. He knew that in the time of trouble God would hide him in the secret place of His tabernacle. (Vs. 6) Knowing this fact, he therefore goes into prayer in verses 7-14. It would have been so easy to simply give in to despair and crawl somewhere to hide. But he chose to hide in God, in the secret place of His tabernacle. This is where his safety was! This was the most perfect place to be in! His desire was to see God’s face, to call for mercy and deliverance. His focus was on God, and not his circumstances! He knew that even though his mother and father may forsake him, God would not! (Vs. 10) He says he would have lost heart had he not believed. (Vs. 13) How many times do we fall into the enemy’s trap by losing heart? We are in a tough situation and as far as our natural eye can see, there is no way out. Our flesh gets in the way, we become fearful, and instead of looking to the Lord, we try natural means of escape. How many times do we get in trouble when this happens? When we lean to our own understanding, it will not work. My late husband, a World War II hero,  told me that if a soldier in battle depended on his own understanding, he could be killed. He must follow the orders of his commander exactly, knowing that his commander has everything worked out for his safety and victory. It is the same way with

the Lord, we must have faith that He knows how to work out the situation for our good. The key is to “wait on the Lord.” (Vs. 14) Our need to be in control at all times can really

get us into trouble! We speak hastily, we move hastily, and we assume things that are wrong. Our emotions get the better of us! If only we would rest in the Lord. If only we would trust Him above all else! If only we would sit tight and wait for our orders!

When we are in the middle of what seems like an impossible situation, let us learn to say “whoa! stop now!” and take the matter to prayer. There are situations that grip us in our heart where we feel totally overwhelmed and crushed. During these times the thing we must remember is that God is there ready to take hold of the situation. We are not alone! God’s love transcends all love that we can ever experience on this earth! His understanding is endless, and He knows the beginning to the end of what should take place so that He can be glorified. This is the key! No matter what is going on, God can turn it around for His Glory! If we can instill this into our heart, it will be easy to place our problem into His hands. Just think! God wants you healed! He wants your children to turn to Him and live their life for Him! He wants your husband or your wife to return to Him. He wants you to prosper! He wants your family to be blessed. He wants your relationships to be healed. If there is any question regarding what God wants, just look to His Word and you will find the answer. He always wants good for you!

Perhaps you are saying to yourself, “okay, how do I pray? How can I let go of my situation to the point where I can rest in Him?” Prayer is talking to God. It is reaching out to Him with all your heart, mind, and body. It is crying out to Him fully convinced that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Heb. 11:6) When we read the great chapter of faith in Hebrews 11, we are brought to understand what pleases God. Faith pleases Him! When we let go and trust Him, He is happy! Our obedience in calling out to Him, and following His instructions makes Him happy.

Today, right now, sit quietly before the Lord. Begin to talk to Him just as you would to someone you love that you can see. Even though we cannot see Him, He is there! Tell Him what is on your mind. Talk to Him about the elections, our nation, our city, our world. Talk to Him about the war, the economy, the job situations. Talk to Him about your loved ones, your friends, your church, your school. Talk to Him about your health, your marriage, your widowhood. Get it all out of your system! He is Patient. He loves you and wants to hear from you. Talk to Him about Thanksgiving Day, and all the things that you are grateful for! If there is any sin that needs to be confessed, do it now! He is always ready to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) Have a good time with Him! Tell Him about your joys and your triumphs! He is cheering you on! He wants to see you succeed! He is pleased and happy for you! Renew your fellowship with Him today, and begin fresh. Let us pray...Father, in Jesus Precious Name, we come before You this day and worship You in Spirit and in Truth. We thank You Father, that You will never leave us or forsake us. (Heb. 13:5) You are our Helper Lord, we can come boldly before You with confidence that You love us. Thank You Father, for always being there, for never getting tired of us. Thank You Father, that we can always depend on You! Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, so that we can have a right relationship with You. Thank You for all of our blessings. We are blessed. I am blessed. Amen! & Amen!

God bless you!
