November 2016

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. “Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you, and your loved ones. We are fine, and thanking and praising God for all that He has done, and is doing, in this year. It certainly has been a year of unrest in our country and cities, but God has seen us through it all. We thank God for all the souls that have come to Him in this year. As times grow increasingly difficult, His love and mercy shines even brighter! We have learned to grow more and more dependent upon Him as we witnessed serious issues throughout our land. All this unrest has certainly given us things to ponder over in this world we live in.

As we take time out this month to vote, let us remember that each one of our votes counts! If we want to see change, if we want to see our land healed and under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, we need to be that light and vote, and vote with our conscience. We need to know the issues.... where do our candidates stand on things like homeland security, jobs, freedom of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ, and do the candidates support Israel? What are their thoughts on abortion, school issues, law and order, foreign policy, etc.? We need to know their thoughts on social issues and things that are needed to make our country One Nation, Under God. This is a time to let your light shine! Get out there and vote! Vote with your conscience, vote with your intelligence, vote after prayer asking God to give you wisdom regarding the candidate of His choice. Know the issues and then get out there!

Thanksgiving Day is this month. I pray that the media would turn around and speak about what Thanksgiving really means! They make more mention of Halloween than Thanksgiving Day! It is now called “Turkey Day” by so many people! The whole reason of the holiday has been changed, and it is so sad. I would love to see a people out in

the streets to protest the change and pray for people all over the land to bring the reason for the holiday back! To be thankful to our Heavenly Father for all of our blessings! Oh... to be young again! ....yes, I have protested over many things! And yes, things did change for the good most of the time.

It is a time, whether alone, or with family or friends, to stop for a day to give honor to the Lord for all He has done in our lives. We have all gone through things in this past year. No one is totally exempt; it is part of being alive. But Jesus has said “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) However, if we look back, we can see how God moved in certain areas. Perhaps it was not the way we expected, but somehow it all worked out.

I remember as a child, I would sometimes worry or fret for the future. Especially during war time! Then I heard somewhere, that half of the things we worry about never come true. So, that settled it for me, I was free! When I put it all together, thinking about what I was afraid of, and then thinking about my best Friend, Jesus, I realized how true that statement was! So, I no longer was afraid of a bomb hitting our country, I was no longer afraid of failing a test, or what a bully would do to me. I became fearless and I think because of my attitude, others treated me differently. Bullies knew they could not harm me, and I dared myself to be brave, and remember that Jesus was for me, so who could be against me? I slept at night, knowing I was in His hands, and I thanked God every day for being with me.

What are you thankful for? I have so many things to thank God for, such as my family, my ministry, my friends, my health, my home. God has seen me through really tough times, and when I think back, I am amazed at how He worked and turned things around for the good. I believe God has permitted some things to come into our lives for a reason. If we look back, we can see how some circumstances have changed our lives for the good. It is amazing, because when going through those times we cannot see the end from the beginning! But with faith, and pressing on, we can see how it all came together, just like the pieces of a puzzle.

When we take the time to really think back, we can find so much to thank Him for! We can also learn that none of the fretting we did, did anything to change things. He actually turned it all around for His Glory. God gives guidance, He gives direction, and His Word gives us promises that we can hold on to. Look back and see what the Lord has done in your life by the power of Holy Spirit. You have a Mighty, Loving, God who loves you more than you can ever imagine! He cares about you, personally, and He is there to be with you, to comfort you, to give you peace, to guide you, and to hold you. Praise Him!

Father, in Jesus Name, I lift this reader up to You, and ask You to fill him or her with Your love, Your peace, and Your joy. Encourage this person today and let Your wisdom and peace prevail in all of life’s circumstances. Praise You Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen! Happy Thanksgiving!
