“Be exalted, O Lord, in Your own strength! We will sing and praise Your power.” (Psalm 21:13)
Dear Friend,
Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. We are all fine and thanking and praising God for the privilege of serving Him. We celebrated 38 wonderful years of ministry last October. It is amazing how fast time goes when you are having fun! My friend, there is nothing better in this world than serving God! He makes it fun, He takes us through hard times, but He sees to it that we keep strong and continue to press in. He gives us back more than we could ever give to Him! The joy of leading souls to the Lord is more than any other thing in this world!  Just this week a young woman, age 20, called because she was terrified for her future. She worked as a stripper, and went to a fortune teller who told her some things that were scary. Our prayer partner took her time with this woman, and led her to repent of her life style, repent of going to a fortune teller, and receive the Lord into her heart. Glory! We were sure to give her the name of a good church in her area, and send her helpful literature. This is all God!! He is stronger than any power on earth or in the heavenlies!!! He wants more than anything for every person to come to Him, and just as they are! We do not have to first clean up our act! That comes with God’s help after we receive Jesus, and He gives us the strength to do it! Praise Him!
There is so much to thank God for!  The other day I was driving home at night, and suddenly noticed that the gas tank in my car was empty! This has never happened to me before, as I always keep up with it, but I had taken a long trip where there were no gas stations in sight. I was tired, and did not think to check the gas. It was late at night and all I could think of was to get home. I immediately became frightened, and told Jesus that I was scared and asked for His help. Immediately I heard, “you will be fine, just drive along this way.” Because it was so dark, there were no street lamps,  I was nervous to drive there, but I knew I heard from God so I obeyed. Suddenly there was the gas station and I filled the tank up! To other drivers, this situation may have been nothing, but to me, it was scary. But God came through for me!! There will always be things in our life that may seem scary, like having to go for surgery, losing a job, a loved one who is ill, a teen-ager who is late coming home, and it goes on and on. However, when we keep our eyes on Jesus; when we trust that He will come through for us; when we keep thanking and praising Him in our situation; we will get past it and be comforted. Life can be hard, and He knows that. He said it in His Word. “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
When we think back to our life and things that have happened to us, there can be many occasions when we realized that without His help, where would we be? Would we be sitting here and able to read this letter? Would we be able to think of what in the world am I going to cook for Thanksgiving?? How am I going to feed all these guests? (Smile) There was a time in my life when I cooked for our whole family for every single holiday! I would cook for weeks and freeze items and no matter what I had I always wondered if it would be enough. But praise God, it was always more than enough so that our guests could take food home. This is a little thing, but at the time it meant something to me, and I always thanked God for his multiplication of the food.
All this was, of course, little things. But when we start thinking, there are multiple big occasions when we may have thought, “ok, it is over for me.” We may have gone to bed with tears thinking of what could happen next, or how will the rent get paid, or will my family ever get saved? There are so many things.... we all have hidden fears. We may be afraid of being alone, or afraid of pain. But our Heavenly Father is stronger than our fears! Our Heavenly Father knows all about it, and He is not afraid!  He knows no fear! Jesus tells us so often not to worry! When we worry about something, the problem gets us instead of us getting it. Let us rise up with the courage that Jesus gives us so freely if we would only ask! Let us bring our fears to Him and let go of them! Let us thank God for our blessings and for taking on all that is trying to discourage us, and let us open our heart to Him and give Him thanks and praise and give Him Glory for Who He is and all that He has done and is doing! Let us be thankful in all things! I thank God for you!  Happy Thanksgiving, and God bless!
