CHN is a network of volunteers from churches throughout the United States of America and throughout the nations. Our mission and passion is to carry on the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

Dear Friend,

Trusting that all is well with you and your loved ones. All is well here, and possibly by the time you receive this, the Day to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, Oct. 1 will have taken place. Each year we work with Robert Stearns of Eagles Wings Ministry as we prepare our areas of influence to participate in this special day. On the first Sunday of every October, churches and ministries around the world pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God holds prayers for Israel to be of utmost importance. It says in Psalm 122:6

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.  So this prayer is so important to God that He actually promises to prosper those who pray I know that I want to prosper; do you? I have found that as I am faithful to my prayers God is Faithful to His promise. He never fails I encourage you to please make this a daily prayer in your life. Make it so important to you so that you will always be faithful with your prayers. God will honor you!

The world will  be celebrating something else this month. Each year on October 31 there is a holiday, Halloween, set aside to entice young children to engage in a day that is said to be just a fun day. A day where they can go around to utter trick or treat and hopefully as a result get some delicious candy. They dress up in costumes, and some are really cute ones. But they also dress up in scary costumes hoping to get attention through it because of the holiday. Teen-agers and adults also have parties and dress up in various costumes. There are parades in the streets where revelers wear outlandish costumes and dance as they go by. Why? Why is there so much fascination with evil?  Why do parents and others think this is all just fun?  Is the devil fun??? Is he real? He sure is!
So why would Christians seek to follow the world and celebrate him?  I admit before I was Born Again I thought this was an innocent holiday and allowed my children to dress up in costumes. They were cute costumes, nothing evil, but nevertheless, it was wrong!  As Christians we have Christ Who lives in us. He lives in every believer. As a Believer, Paul tells us: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood (human beings) but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 6:12, NIV)

Therefore, since our struggle is against the forces of evil in the heavenlies, how can we celebrate them?  Satan is the author of all that is evil. He is out to destroy us!  Billy Graham, in his Christian Workers Handbook states:
1. Let us be reminded of this... Satan is a defeated foe. (John 3:8)
2. Christ lives in the believer (Colossians 1:27)
3. The Holy Spirit empowers (Acts 1:8; 2 Timothy 1:7)
4. The Word of God guides (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We, as Christians, have victory and power over the enemy as Christ lives in us! So, again.... why would we want to, or encourage our children to, wear devilish costumes or any costumes to celebrate the devils day?  Our resources against the devil and his cohorts are found in Scripture.
1. Alertness (1 Peter 5:8)
2. Prayer (Matthew 26:41)
3. The use of the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Evangelist John Ramirez gives our prayer line number to those he ministers to in his meetings. People call us from all over the world who have gone through demonic oppression and need deliverance. This is no joke my friend, it is serious. We need for all and that includes the church, to wake up!   Let us not entertain demons in any shape or form!   As parents and grandparents, let us be bold enough to speak the truth to our family and tell them how entertaining the devil in any form invites him to enter in!

We who belong to Christ, who know the truth, must step out and make our voices heard, and not subject our little children to the enemies tactics. My daughter lives in Arizona. Did you know that there is a witches coven in the hills there?  At one point when a town hall meeting was being held, those in charge who did not want to offend anyone, invited the head Witch to come to the meeting to open up in prayer!   Mercy, what kind of prayer?

What if we instead, took the Word of God and made that the Word for the day? What if we instead, explained to our children that we do not celebrate this holiday, that instead we are going to invite friends to gather together to pray? Then have ice cream and treats after that!  There are so many things that we can do with our children and family to turn the day around from celebrating the enemy to honoring our God!   Let's get creative!
